APOLOGIES FOR NOT BLOGGING

The reason I have been quiet for the past two years, March 18, 2024

I haven't blogged for the past two years, not out of choice and neither from work preventing me to do so, but rather due to the fact that I had to fight another battle that prevented me once again to continue with my desire to develope, talk and share with people my passion. So this time it was a different kind of stumbling block than all the previous years. This time it was more serious and will have a totally different and lasting effect on my capabilities to continue with my blogging and desire to develope websites. Why do I say so?

More about the reasons why:

In February of 2022 my live took a bit of a downward spiral. Initially I had no idea what was going on with my body. For almost 6 months, from about July 2021, I started feeling my health deteriorate more and more. So much so that I was in a trance-like state most of the time and I was having tremors, my movement becoming slower and slower and I had dificulty eating and speaking. As I didn't have any private medical cover, it was very difficult to find out as to what was plaguing my health. It truly felt as if air around me was poisoned.

After self-research on my symptoms, I suspect that it might be the onset of Parkinson's and decided to consult my suspicions with a GP. The GP didn't think it was Parkinson's and referred me to a neurologist, only to be informed that this would be a 6 months wait and required me to travel to Johannesburg. Feeling completely bewildered and incapacitated and not having the funds available to consult with a doctor privately in Johannesburg, I then took the leap to consult with a internist local, who also confirmed that he wasn't convinced it was Parkinson's either. His diagnoses rather being a heart condition, and after prescribing some medication it did seem to illeviate much of my symptoms, despite the persistence of my tremors and still feeling weak and somedays my legs feeling numb and other days, just not having the strength to do anything at all.

To amplify matters, my marriage dissolved and I was also left with no choice to walk away from a business partnership that left me in debt. I felt totally ambushed and knew I had to seek clarity to address my health issues. Knowing I had limited funds and resources, I opted to explore what public health assistance I could get and after my initial enquiry, within a week I was sent to the neurology department at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa, who officially diagnosed my symptoms as Parkinson's Disease or PD as it's called. This Hospital has been phenomenal with the care, guidance and expertise I have received. I am now trying my utmost to piece my personal and business life back to together.

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT

The FIRST reason people create websites, January 15, 2022

Yes, one of the first reason I think every young business or startup individual should have a website is just that it makes you look more professional. More than 80% of today’s consumers think a website makes the business more credible than companies who only have social media profiles. It is also the perfect place to show off yourself and your professional certifications or awards you or the business has.

A website makes you look professional

Beyond that, having your own website lets you create a branded email address (e.g. info@yoursite.co.za) which adds a level of professionalism to all of your correspondence, especially if you’ve used a personal email address to conduct business up until now. It will put yourself or your business on the forefront so that customer want to do business with you and it will make it easier for them to find you through Google.

With over 90 percent of consumers using the Internet to look for local goods and services, businesses of all sizes can leverage the internet for growth. For small businesses exclusively using social media as their online presence, connecting a domain name to your social media page may increase web traffic. Ultimately, websites continue to be a critical marketing tool. Consumers prefer a business website for information they can trust. Small businesses believe that a website not only helps them find new customers, but also grow their business. In fact, more than 80 percent say their website is important or critical to their business. Are you a small business owner who is thinking about getting online? Look at our options and feel free to contact us now that we can put you online and get you noticed early on the world wide web. Remember, we start you small to grow you big.

The reason people create websites, January 8, 2022

For many centuries, people have found many ways to communicate and collaborate for both professional and personal reasons. Still, since the beginning the Internet came into play, the direction of human activity have witnessed real prominent progress. It got especially significant and impressive for the last decade, with broader availability of the Internet and development of new technology. Ten or twenty years ago, having a website was seen as a sort of luxury while today it is a widely-used and important factor of personal, professional, and business growth.

More about the World Wide Web

There is a great number of big and small goals standing behind the incredible variety of websites whose number seems to grow every single minute. According to Internet Live Stats, there are over 1.86 billion websites on the World Wide Web as of June 18, 2021 Web Server Survey. The milestone of 1 billion was first reached in September of 2014, as confirmed by NetCraft in its June 18, 2021 Web Server Survey, and first estimated and announced by Internet Live Stats. The number had subsequently declined, reverting back to a level below 1 billion due to the monthly fluctuations in the count of inactive websites before reaching it again and stabilizing above the 1 billion mark starting in March of 2016. In general, this is the sort of story of the amazing path from 1 website in 1991 to over 1.86 billion websites in 2021.
No wonder people are thinking more and more about the idea of setting up their websites and they come to this decision along the different ways reaching various life destinations. I would like to review some of the most popular reasons that make people want to work on their websites either by themselves or by hiring professionals, and in some cases applying both of the mentioned options. The ideas will be supported by web developing and design concepts accomplished by developers and designers alike to reach their objectives.

WEB DEVELOPMENT

Starting my new journey, January 1, 2022

When your waiting for the sun to set, you never know how it will look, until it goes down. Click to see the change in the sunset, then click to see the opening picture again. For me personally, developing websites on the world wide web is like looking at the sunset, beautiful and yet full of amazement of what the end product will be. That is how I feel about website development and the reason I have started Sarmeda Website Developer to create these beautiful sceneries for my customers and to let them experience the joy I get out of it.

How I felt

The first time I experienced the creation of a new website was just wonderful, especially to see the unique way in which the coding comes together to create this beautiful sceneries. To be able to create a website with the aim of getting a platform for expressing your creativity and trying your particular skills, like, for example, creative writing. Again, the complexity and quality of websites can be very different, still, the basic reason behind creating them is self-expression and growth.
